“Our partnership with Enter has allowed our legal argument to reach the courts consistently. The reliability of the results led us to expand the platform’s rollout, which today supports 100% of new lawsuits in our consumer litigation.”

Challenge
01
Consistency across thousands of lawsuit answers
Mercado Livre's legal department had built a database of more than 50 legal theses spanning 31 categories of consumer litigation. Making sure the right arguments reached the judiciary in every lawsuit was a company priority. No manual process could guarantee that the correct theses reached the attorneys handling thousands of cases a year, each with its own particularities.
Volume also concealed recurring procedural irregularities in lawsuits filed against MELI — proof of address under a third party's name, expired powers of attorney, tampered documents — impossible to track one by one.
The question became:
Solution
In every lawsuit, Enter's AI integrated with Mercado Livre's legal ERP to collect and read the full case file and the operational inputs.
When the plaintiff claims not to recognize a loan, for example, Enter's AI agents cross-reference the selfie captured at signing with the ID document submitted with the lawsuit — proving that the person who signed the contract is the same person now suing.
“Enter is an important technology partner. They process data in real time, identify patterns across hundreds of lawsuits and score the relevance of each piece of evidence. The result is a strong lawsuit answer, with continuous improvement: each lawsuit feeds back into the pipeline, catching flaws before they affect the outcome.”

With more than 30 checks per lawsuit, Enter's technology uncovers evidence of procedural irregularity in 15% of them. The most frequent types: proof of address in a third party's name (8%), proof of address issued more than six months earlier (6%) and an expired power of attorney (6%).
Enter's AI puts the evidence it uncovers in front of the law firms representing the company, sharpening their decisions on the best strategy for that lawsuit.
One recurring example is forum shopping: plaintiffs filing in states with case law more favorable to consumers, using a third party's proof of address to establish jurisdiction there. Enter's anti-fraud agent flags the pattern in every lawsuit — something that previously required manual, case-by-case validation.
Mercado Livre's legal department had developed a solid database of legal theses. The challenge was getting the right thesis into the right lawsuit answer, every time.
Enter's AI reads the case file for every lawsuit and rebuilds the timeline: when the customer bought the product, when it arrived, when the plaintiff made contact, when the plaintiff filed suit. With that chronology in view, Enter's AI agents support drafting based on the strategy the legal department has defined, flagging which argument applies — and which evidence backs it.
When a plaintiff goes straight to court without any record of prior contact with customer service, for example, Enter's AI flags that gap in the case file and surfaces the argument along with supporting screenshots and evidence — so the law firms representing Meli can exercise their judgment informed by data.
Results
Mercado Livre first hired Enter to work on 10% of its consumer litigation portfolio. In little more than a year, it expanded to 100% of new lawsuits. The results:
- +9 p.p. in performance across lawsuits supported by Enter's AI, compared with lawsuits on the same subject and in the same period that didn't use Enter's technology
- 10x expansion — from 10% to 100% of its consumer litigation — within 15 months
- Across 5,000 lawsuits, Enter's technology delivered US$1 million in savings.
Ruling analysis showed where the difference came from:
- In lawsuits dismissed without prejudice: two gains explain the efficiency. The first is the use of legal arguments MELI had already mapped internally, but whose application across filings was not consistent — such as the argument that the plaintiff went straight to court without registering prior contact with the company, now applied systematically in lawsuit answers built with support from Enter’s AI. The second is the addition of legal arguments, made possible by Enter’s ability to identify fraud and wrongdoing in documents and procedures, which came to support threshold defenses before ever reaching the merits.
- In lawsuits ruled against the plaintiff: the argument that the plaintiff went straight to court without any record of prior contact with the company appeared only in rulings on lawsuit answers Mercado Livre's legal department drafted with Enter's AI — a thesis Meli had already identified as a winner, but one that never reached the filings because no one had turned the litigation pipeline into a scalable process.
“Every lawsuit answer we file now carries the argument we built. At the scale of our legal department, that moves the needle.”
